My mom passed away two years ago, but we were saying goodbye to her for a long time before that. We were so lucky she stayed sweet and cheerful to the end. We’re having an exceptionally beautiful spring here in NC, so let that bring you a little joy if nothing else. Pay no mind to the legislative f*ckery afoot.
While the trip isn’t a happy one, take some time to enjoy your time in NC. It’s that glorious time when it can be 80 degrees one day with a frost warning the next. That window where the humidity doesn’t hit like a solid wall.
