Busy week? Couldn’t stay on top of all the news? Hop into my DeLorean and let’s go for a ride!
First I’ll run you through what I wrote this week. After that, I’ll give you a short list of stuff that caught my interest. Maybe it’ll catch your interest, too.
Here we go! 1.21 gigawatts and 88 MPH!
Monday: Rural America is more racist and filled with hate than almost any other group in the country. But we’re not supposed to talk about that. Except screw that, of course we are because fuck those assholes and the people who protect them. There’s so much white rage, it eclipsed the sun on Monday. Oh wait, that might have been the Moon.
Tuesday: The first rule of Ratfucking Club is: You do not talk about Ratfucking Club. But Kennedy’s campaign did it anyway because they’re Republicans (for real) and don’t understand that actions have consequences.
More Tuesday!: OK, I’m patting myself on the back a little here. Sue me. It’s exciting!
Wednesday: This has been The Article Of The Week. The piece that generated the largest response. Deb and I thank you for all of your kind thoughts. Also thank you to all of the people who have shared the stories of their reproductive losses and triumphs. If you have not seen them, I strongly recommend you read the comments. These are the stories that make it clear what the stakes are in November.
Thursday: Every part of this story is vile and not in the least bit surprising. A political party with a violent pedophile rapist as its leader naturally attracts other violent pedophile rapists. The current GOP is diseased and must be put down for good.
Friday: A little break from the angst of politics. Here’s a fun story that will make you feel better about humanity and give you some insight into me and my family. Don’t worry, this ain’t Penthouse Forum. Although, seriously, I can’t believe this happened to me…
Things That I Found Interesting This Week:
The Beekeeper Is a Bad Movie That’s Good At Fighting Scams - A little bummed the movie was mid but nice that someone is really normalizing killing scammers. Haha. I kid. Maybe.
The 2024 Election Is Changing. It's Getting Better for Joe Biden and The Democrats - This is a BFD. I predicted quite some time ago that the second Joe Biden tied or passed Trump in the polls, the press would suddenly stop writing breathless front-page articles about the polls. Surprise! That’s exactly what happened.
Hankey-Panky Financing - Trump’s NYC bond is a…ahem…junk bond and will probably be rejected. All he’s done is buy himself a little more time while bringing even more legal scrutiny to his shady dealings. Womp-womp.
People v. Trump - The press really really wants the public to not pay attention to Trump's election interference case in NY. It’s starting next week and Trump has been frantically trying to stop it because it’s the one most likely to finish quickly and end with him a convicted felon. And then the press and the GOP will have to expend massive amounts of resources to explain why that’s perfectly normal and people should still vote for Trump.
See you next week!
I am one third through reading this and I had to stop and stand up, cheer, give thumbs up, re-stack the article and deem that you are hereby awarded my BEST ARTICLE OF THE MONTH AWARD! This is so spot on! I always argue with anyone who starts up with the idiotic….”rural people feel ignored”…bullshit. Your call-out that they are angry because giving other people a glance of equality means rural rights are being taken away in THEIR racist minds! As if no one else has suffered economic turmoil. Remember 2008 anyone? So, back to finish reading this brilliant piece. Thank you for writing it. I feel better seeing the truth in writing already.
Touché!
